“Fishing tales are not always a source of over indulgence and irritation.”

( Quote with compliments and thanks to the ‘Great Big Fishing Bloke’ in the sea.)

This is the Sea Adventures fishing blog, bringing fresh fishing news from the coast of Kenya.

My name is Simon Hemphill. I am the co owner of Sea Adventures, a deep sea fishing charter operator based in Shimoni, Kenya.

Between my father, Pat, and I, we have well over 30 years of experience in these waters and as a marine biologist I am keenly aware of the problems this particular fishery area faces, as well as the opportunities for us sport fishermen that it presents.

Our seasons fall into two categories – the Tuna season and the Billfish season. The former falls mainly in September and October and healthy catches are often seen in May and June. The latter falls from from December to March. Through both, and the quieter time of year, I will be updating this blog with periodic news items.

Come back often, and feel free to post any comments and discussions in the areas provided.
